FAQs

  • nope. we just ask that you try to maintain the silence and stillness that has traditionally proven most conducive to a state of meditative absorption. if you’d like some personal pointers from more experienced practitioners, feel free to ask

  • we have a standing meeting time/place available

    from: 9 - 10:30am

at: drkmttr collective, 1111 dickerson pike, nashville tn 37207

however, please check the schedule/instagram feed to confirm we’ll be there on a given weekend (we’re a very small group right now so if the person who needs to open the door and set things up isnt available, its a rain check)

you can also join our sits remotely at:

  • for in-person sits, it’s appreciated if you wear clothes that fully cover your arms and legs. also, sitting in jeans is rough, so just keep in mind that loose, comfortable options are usually best

  • nope. we’re either online or sitting at place that’s not charging us anything. if that changes down the line for a retreat or overnight sit or something, we’ll let you know. for now just show up.

we do gratefully accept donations, which will go toward either materials like cushion or back to our hosting space directly

  • while some of our members may be affiliated with a particular lineage, teacher, school, tradition, etc, zen posers as a group itself is not. we focus on sitting in pretty universally accepted basic zen postures and embodying techniques that are similarly common across the board. although an in-person sit organizer might set things up according to their particular experience, this is not an implication of any kind of hierarchy
